It’s been a few years since many of us have traveled abroad during the winter, but it seems like this is finally our year. Airbnb has released its annual report on the top cities Canadians are visiting this winter, and it looks like most people are heading south.
Airbnb released two lists of Canada’s top search destinations this winter that show where people are most looking forward to visiting this season, both within our borders and abroad.
As for the trending international destinations on Airbnb, most of them are actually in the United States. In fact, Toronto is among the top five cities to visit the United States in 2022.

According to Airbnb, here are the most popular international destinations for Canadians this winter:

- Anaheim, California

As for the accommodations themselves, Canadians seem to have a preference for houses on the water.
This winter season, the top five most booked Airbnb categories among Canadians include:
- Amazing pools
- Tropical
- Beach
- National parks
- seafront
This is based on bookings from the new “categories” feature on Airbnb, which lets you search and book amazing stays around the world based on specific criteria.
