Mr. Frizzle may not welcome you aboard, but we still think a stay on this one-of-a-kind Airbnb school bus on Vancouver Island could be quite magical. If you’re looking for a place that’s a destination in itself, then we think this is it.
While there are other converted buses on Airbnb, we have to hand it over to owners to find a retro 1969 model once used for a nearby school district. And of course, more than its fair share of TLC has made it a lovely guesthouse.

Naturally, space is a bit limited here. However, it’s the perfect option for a couple, offering a queen-size bed, sofas to relax on, and a very nice outdoor lounging area to unwind. After a day of hiking, we couldn’t ask for much more.
In terms of amenities, this is quite the alley of a glamping experience. There’s no wifi, but you still have access to a hot shower, composting toilet, and kitchenette to cook simple meals. Think eating out is the move? Throw a few things on the BBQ instead!
Location wise, you can find this option near Sooke, just 30 minutes from Victoria. To us, this seems like the perfect option for a weekend getaway or a stopover if you’re planning on doing a bit of traveling around the island.
