When blogger travels Katie Cafe left New York in May 2021 for Mexico, she only had one major turnover suitcase and one backpack in tow. Somehow, though, Caf says she still feels overpacked.

“I thought I only brought the essentials,” she told Insider. “But honestly, I had a lot more than I needed. Even for work, I rarely use all the camera equipment I brought with me – the photos I take with my iPhone often end up work very well.”

Today, Caf relies on a modest turnover hand suitcase for all his must-haves while hopping from place to place.
