How much is Carrie Bradshaw’s New York apartment now in Sex and the City

CARRIE Bradshaw’s New York City apartment was her beloved oasis in the bustling city where she opened up about love and life as a newspaper columnist on the hit series Sex and the City.

And if you’ve ever dreamed of living a life like Carrie’s, you’d need to shell out a few hundred thousand dollars to stay in her briefcase.

According to an estimate calculated by the Australian real estate site real estate.com.au, Carrie’s iconic porcelain stoneware apartment would be worth at least $ 600,000 today – a low number for what an apartment like hers would actually be worth.

Luckily for Carrie, that means she would make a generous profit if she sold it after living the place for two decades.

In the fourth season of Sex and the City, Carrie, with the help of her best friend Charlotte, bought the house for between $ 150,000 and $ 200,000, according to the website.

This means that she would earn at least $ 400,000 on the sale.

While the address of Carrie’s apartment at 245 East 73rd Street does not exist in real life, the exterior of her apartment building used on the show does exist.

The brownstones at 64 and 66 Perry Street in the West Village, which were used as the front of his apartment throughout the series – the first having been filmed in the first three seasons and the last used for the remainder of the series – are very real and busy.

In fact, residents of 66 Perry Street have a “no trespassing” sign hung across their driveway to deter fans from taking photos on their steps.

Plus, real apartments have much more realistic price tags.

While Carrie Bradshaw’s $ 600,000 apartment may be digestible to some, the homes it’s based on are much more expensive.

According to Zillow, the entire 64 Perry Street home was last sold in 2013 for $ 13.25 million.

The rent estimate is over $ 20,000 per month.

According to John Walkup, co-founder of real estate data analysis firm UrbanDigs (via New York Post).

By comparison, Carrie admitted on the show that she only paid $ 700 a month for her apartment, which was rent-controlled.

Two lucky fans were able to live out their Sex and the City dreams thanks to Airbnb and Sarah Jessica Parker have teamed up to rent a replica of Carrie’s dream apartment for two separate overnight stays in November.

The special collaboration preceded the December 9 premiere of the Sex and the City revival series, And Just Like That, which will air exclusively on HBO Max.

The apartment was completed with a remake of Carrie’s tutu from the opening credits of Sex and the City and came with a video welcome message from Parker herself as well as a completed brunch with Cosmopolitans.

“The character of Carrie Bradshaw is close and dear to my heart, and revisiting her world for the rest of the Sex and the City story has been such a joy,” Parker said in the Airbnb press release.
