“Eurostar security staff are essential to the operation of Eurostar and it is a shame that they are not paid a living wage,” said RMT general secretary Mick Lynch.

“We don’t want to disrupt people’s travel plans, but our members need a raise, and that’s the only way management will listen.”

Lynch encouraged Mitie and Eurostar to quickly negotiate a settlement with RMT.

RMT announced further industrial action at Network Rail and 14 other rail operators on December 13, 14, 16 and 17 and January 3, 4, 6 and 7, 2023.
