I own TWO houses at 31 and pay off both mortgages with my stunning interior design – here’s my secret
WHEN you enter one of by Dani Dazey Rentals in California, you are immediately surrounded by a world of vibrant color and artistic decor.
Her Palm Springs home features a wall of pop-art portraits, orange checkered tile floors and brightly colored velvet sofas.
Dazey’s other California home in Los Angeles is equally vibrant with mosaic tiles scattered throughout, patterned ceilings and pastel walls.
Turns out, having a maximalist style like Dazey’s seriously pays off.
In fact, both of Dazey’s homes pay for themselves every month with their unique designs that attract a ton of visitors.
“People want to experience something unique,” Dazey told The Sun.
Dazey began his foray into interior design after designing the office space for his art-based clothing brand, Dazey LAwith content creation in mind.
Soon people started approaching her about renting the office space, and Dazey then had the idea of doing something similar with a new home.
Dazey first wanted another space in Los Angeles, but when it all ran out, she started looking in Palm Springs.
There, she said she found “a cute little spot and was able to make something really special out of it.”
She explained, “I still had to pay rent in LA, so I always had a plan in mind to rent it out on Airbnb. And it ended up being like a really lucrative investment.
“And the fact that it’s been decorated in such a unique way really helps it stand out from the rest.”
Now Dazey’s Palm Springs home, which she dubbed the Dazey Desert House, is paying six times her monthly mortgage thanks to Airbnb and rental of photo shoots.
But it took a while before Dazey started seeing that amount of profit.
She first started renovating room by room, then as her budget grew, she was able to do more interesting renovations, which made all the difference.
“When we added an amazing tiled floor and then this beautiful gallery wall and all the wallpaper and murals. As the space really became like something special and special, I think it made a huge difference,” Dazey said.
Brands like Marriott and Samsung rented his Palm Springs home, plus it was part of a Zedd’s music video.
Meanwhile, Dazey bought a new house in Los Angeles about a year ago and is renting it out the same way on Peer space for photo shoots.
The tenants also pay the bill for this house each month, and Dazey can live there full time and can retire to a detached office during filming.
For those looking to make some extra cash like Dazey, she said it helps her homes stand out with their unique styles.
But, she also suggested checking out Peerspace and Giggster, which she called the “Airbnbs of photoshoot rentals.”
She also said to share your rental on social media, which is a huge way for Dazey to book his own rentals.
Finally, Dazey advised to, “Just really not shy with it, go bold with the design and then share it.”
You can see Dazey in all his makeover glory on June 1 alongside drag queen Trixie Mattel on Discovery+’s new show, Trixie Motel.
