Demand for mini-homes rose 76%, the platform reported, while searches for farm stays also climbed 66%.

Airbnb Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Susan Wheeldon, urged Australians with quirky properties to capitalize on the enthusiasm for domestic travel by becoming a host at the site.

“More than ever before, Australians see their own home as the destination – and that means homes that are a fun and original adventure in their own right,” said Ms Wheeldon.

She added, “The sky is really the limit when it comes to the types of spaces people can list on Airbnb.”
