Jesse DePinto becomes CEO of Frontdesk

United States: Jesse DePinto, co-founder and chief product officer of Milwaukee short-term rental management startup Frontdesk steps up the company’s CEO role, with current CEO and co-founder, Kyle Weatherly, transitioning to a board director.

DePinto will be responsible for strengthening Frontdesk’s leadership position in the short-term rental and flexible rental categories, including expanding into its current markets and building a residential hospitality brand in the process, in a world that is becoming increasingly digital and flexible.

Since its inception in 2017, the company has expanded to over 30 US markets with over 1,000 units in over 150 buildings. In the past 12 months alone, Frontdesk has grown its portfolio by 42%, including take over the management of 33 units vacated by the now defunct WanderJaunt property management company in Tempe and Phoenix, Arizona and Austin, Texas.

Frontdesk previously bought 277 units in 2020 after three of its hosting competitors – Alfred stay, Domio and Lyrical – either closed or rotated their offers.

Weatherly said, “Jesse has been running day-to-day operations for a while, so more than anything, it’s just our job titles catching up with reality. Today is an exciting inflection point in the company’s history, and Jesse’s arrival as CEO marks a turning point: we are entering a new phase of growth for the company.

DePinto, who appeared on a RockSTRz webinar on “What Business Models Will Succeed in a Post-Covid World” in October 2020, said: To say I have big shoes to fill is an understatement. Kyle Weatherly has set the bar incredibly high for any leader.

“Growing a company from two to more than 300 people in five years is an achievement. Leading a fledgling travel company through a once-in-a-century pandemic is another feat. To do all of this while fostering an unparalleled culture filled with team-oriented, strong, and passionate human beings is just unreal.

“When Kyle and I started starting Frontdesk in early 2017, we knew the hospitality experience needed to be redefined from the ground up for the modern traveler, and we were crazy enough to think we might have a chance. to play a leading role in this disruption. Five years later, we are now fortunate to serve over 400,000 loyal customers in over 150 locations in over 30 markets,” he added.
