Katrina Scott Makes History As First Visibly Pregnant Woman In Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’

Katrina Scott is the first visibly pregnant woman to appear on the pages of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit publish.

the old Sports Illustrated The Rookie of the Year and founder of the fitness app Tone It Up posed in the pages of the magazine in a white swimsuit, with her pregnant belly on full display. Sports Illustrated swimsuit shared Scott’s photo on his Instagramas well as a message from the influencer, who applauded the magazine for “breaking down boundaries” and “speaking directly to all women in an empowering and inclusive voice.”

“As women, we were told, shown and expected to hide (and then ‘bounce’) our pregnant bodies, when in fact our beautiful bumps embody the miracle what it means to be selfless, vulnerable and strong,” she said. “In this issue, I hope to represent all the women who are creating life, feeling all the sensations and embracing change as they contemplate the future, especially those with difficult fertility journeys. I am with you, and you are never alone.”

Scott, who is pregnant with her second child, concluded her post with, “Our bodies and minds are capable of amazing things, and as for me, I’m all about bouncing back gracefully.”

Scott, who is already a mom to three-year-old daughter Isabella with her husband Brian, also shared the photos on her Instagram Stories, writing that she was “honoured to be the first woman to represent pregnancy in Sports Illustrated swimsuit.”

Scott previously shared her second pregnancy after having experienced fertility issues and two miscarriages. In an Instagram post from 2021 announcing that she was expectingshe wrote, “To everyone going through pain, loss, confusion and grief today…my heart is with you. I pray for miracles to be on the way in 2022. I send you all my love.”

At the start of the week, she admitted in an Instagram post that her pregnancy doesn’t always resemble the maternity shoots she poses for at work. She wrote alongside photos of herself showing off her pregnant belly, “I wish this whole pregnancy looked like a maternity photoshoot. I’m currently in bed (she doesn’t look anything like this) trying looking at photos and I’m so happy we ended up capturing those moments before the little girl arrived.”
