Ky Bed & Breakfast offers a night in a real prison cell

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to spend the night in jail? Seriously, there’s a Kentucky Bed & Breakfast that gives you the opportunity.

A NIGHT IN JAIL

I’m not sure anyone would wake up and say, “You know, I think I’d like to spend the night in jail.” However, there is one bed and breakfast in Kentucky that offers a super cool experience with a night in a real jail cell on real bunks. I guess if you have this on your to do list it would be something to do but I’m not sure I can sleep like this LOL.

This place doesn’t look that bad, but I’m sure at the time it wasn’t exactly decorated for the company.

A PIECE OF KENTUCKY HISTORY

the Jailer’s Inn was the Nelson County Jail. It was once the oldest operating prison in Kentucky. According to Atlas Obscura.com;

Executions have taken place on the property (sometimes to the wrong inmate!) and the fact that they buried the dead in the backyard in unmarked graves has led many to report that the place is haunted. The prison is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

A COMFORTABLE PLACE TO STAY

Maybe you’re not the adventurous type but would still like to see the jail cell which you can totally visit and it’s only $5. You can spend the night in one of the other beautifully redone bedrooms. There are nine. Each room has its own theme and one is even a family suite.

Room 1819 is the room with the most contrast, from the hand-hewn woods along the walls and ceiling to the sheer fabric draperies over the King size bed. This room, until recently, was called the “Upstairs Dungeon”. This room also contains a double jacuzzi to quench your troubled spirits.

BUCKET LIST

Angel here and Joe and I are constantly looking for unique places to stay close to home. It’s not a bad road and just think of the scenery. We also like good B&Bs (we like good food!)
