On Thursday night, Russian forces attacked Ukraine in what is considered the biggest attack on a European state since World War II.
The move came after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a official declaration of war, ordering “a special military operation” on Ukraine in a televised address.
Explosions, gunshots and missiles were heard and seen throughout the morning in the city of Kyiv, home to some 3 million people.
Buildings, homes and several structures in the city were – in the blink of an eye – abandoned as Russia considered invade the city in the next few days.
So far, the damage has resulted Russian forces seize a Chernobyl nuclear power plant and airport near Kyiv.
But surprisingly, listing sites show dozens of active listings for massive multimillion-dollar mansions across the capital. Here is a glimpse of the interior.
Kyiv Sea Casa —Vyshhorod, Kyiv, Ukraine
A castle-like estate built only in 2014 is currently up for sale for a whopping $15 million.
Consisting of five bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, and five additional half bathrooms, the mansion has been considered a “masterpiece” and spans over 39,000 square feet.
Known as “Kyiv Sea Casa”, amenities include a separate guesthouse, carriage shed, caretaker’s house, staff quarters, river quay, high-tech security system and a direct access by elevator.

This four-story estate in Kyiv is still for sale for around $9 million.
Comprised of 10 bedrooms and 10 full bathrooms, the gated residence spans over 14,400 square feet.
According to the listing, “The property is considered a historical landmark and has unique and instantly recognizable architecture.”
A large number of government and commercial institutions, embassies, business centers, shopping malls and premier hotels are located near the property, the announcement notes.
Features include multiple entrances to the house, a large balcony, internal parking spaces for 12 cars and a sophisticated security system.
Modern House — Vyshgorod, Kyiv, Ukraine
This six-bedroom, six-bathroom abode dubbed a “modern house with access to the Dnipro River and a private beach” is on the market for $3.65 million.
Set on nearly an acre of land, the “eco-friendly” main house spans over 3,600 square feet and includes a separate guest house that spans 2,700 square feet.
The guest house, which was renovated in 2009, has a separate entrance for staff.
Built in 2003, the residence is fully equipped with Italian furniture, appliances and plumbing from high-end brands, the listing says.
Located in a closed territory of a chalet town, the estate has its own private access to the river, the pier, the beach, the summer house and the barbecue area.

Starokievska — Kyiv, Kyiv, Ukraine
This newly built country home set in 15 acres of land is listed at $1.1 million.
Located in the posh suburb of Koncha-Zaspa, the eco-friendly house was built from massive trunks of specially grown warm pine, the listing explains.
Comprised of four bedrooms and four full bathrooms, the property spans over 4,100 square feet.
Features include a swimming pool, outdoor fireplace and expansive lawns.
Bolsunovska 2 — Kyiv, Kyiv, Ukraine
This two-story penthouse with 360-degree city and water views located in the heart of Kyiv’s Pecherskyi district – the center of the city – is on sale for $1.1 million.
Composed of one bedroom and one bathroom, the residence covers 1,800 square feet.
“Only first-call furniture is shown,” the listing reads. Natural stone floors, doors and walls are made from materials imported from Italy.
The kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances including a Miele dishwasher, Liebherr wine fridge, Siemens hob, Smeg coffee maker and utensils produced by Joseph Joseph. Meanwhile, the chairs in the dining room are produced by B&B Italia.
The en-suite bedroom takes up the entire second floor and has floor-to-ceiling glass walls. Features include a spa room with its own salt steam room with a chromotherapy effect.
