Lowertown shares new single “No Way”

Ahead of the release of their debut album ‘I Love To Lie’ on October 21 on Dirty Hit, lower town share the new single “No Way”.

“We wrote ‘No Way’ after our first visit to Los Angeles together when we were 19,” says Olivia Osby. “We were in a remote AirBnB with no way to get around other than hyper bloated and unreliable Ubers. We didn’t know anyone in town other than a few cursory acquaintances. Avsha and I are both cynical and seemingly dark people, so the positive, white and polite nature of the places, people and events we experienced during this time made our stomachs sour.

“The culture shock from the slow beats, the authentic lifestyle we knew in Atlanta to the polished, nuanced, aggressive way of people in Los Angeles amazed me. It was a whole different way of speaking, thinking and breathing. I felt extreme disgust at the parasitic and superficial nature of so many interactions. Each conversation felt like a way to find out information about who we were, who we knew, and what we had to offer. By the end, I was so tired of all the banter, the forced smiles, and the obsession with status and appearances. LA is beautiful, I love the hills and the sunsets, but most of what I experienced in those weeks made me want to throw.
