UK AIRPORTS to drop ban on liquids over 100ml by 2024.
New rules coming into play mean passengers traveling through UK airports will be able to carry drinks, make-up and liquids of all sizes in their hand luggage for the first time in 16 years.

According to Time, passengers will be able to keep everything in their bags instead of being asked to remove laptops and drop liquids over 100ml during screenings.
Baggage will then pass through special CT scanners that allow airport security to inspect baggage from a 3D image, which will be a big improvement over the 2D images currently in use.
This will likely have a huge impact on families traveling during school holidays, hoping the change will significantly improve waiting times at security checks.
It will also be good news for airport bosses who have faced a massive backlash. long queues this summer.
Trials of the new technology are already underway at Heathrow and are expected to be rolled out permanently to the UK’s largest airports by mid-2024.
John Holland-Kay, boss of Heathrow Airport, told The Times: “We have just started the expansion of the Terminal 3 security area which will have more CT scanners and will have a deadline of mid-2024. from the DFT.
“Until then, the normal experience for passengers will be that liquids stay in the bags.”
The new scanners also mean that travelers will no longer need to place liquids in a clear plastic bag.
But until the changes kick in, anyone flying from the UK will need to comply with current rules on liquids.
Restrictions on the size of liquids were put in place in 2006 after a terrorist attack using liquid explosives was thwarted at Heathrow.
Trials of the technology began at the UK’s biggest airport in 2019 and are also taking place at Gatwick.
Despite the removal of the ban on large liquids, other hand baggage restrictions will remain in place, including the banning of sharp objects.
It’s not just drinks that are banned either, there’s also restrictions on certain food products to safety.
