Now you too can rent Maison Gucci before it becomes available on demand.
The Italian mansion was walked around by Lada Gaga, Adam Driver, Salma Hayek and Jared Leto in the recently released movie “Gucci House”Will be available for a one person and one night stay in March through the apartment rental service Airbnb.
The New York Post reports a night in the Lake Como house, known as Villa Balbiano, can be won by one lucky tenant on March 30, 2022, for the Gucci-esque prize of $ 1,125 (airfare not included).
If you make the cut, you can stay in the 16th-century mansion that hosted high society – and high-ranking members of the Catholic Church – for dances, banquets, and festivals while it housed the Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini in the 1700s, reports the Post.
The house includes a large garden which has been celebrated by the British Society of Garden Designers, a private jetty and boathouse on the lake and an outdoor swimming pool (which we guess will be closed in December).
The interior of the house includes six suites with “opulent marble bathrooms,” according to the Post, as well as 17th-century frescoes painted by Agostino Silva and the Recchi brothers.
In the new film based on Sara Gay Forden’s book, the villa stars as the home of the Gucci family patriarch, Aldo Gucci (Al Pacino). The film centers on the life of Patrizia Reggiani (Gaga), who married into the family, setting off a spiral of betrayal, revenge and murder. Driver plays her husband, Maurizio Gucci, in the drama directed by Ridley Scott which also stars Jeremy Irons.
The setting may be spectacular, but the reviews for the film have been appalling. The New York Times says that it lacks “a strong idea and a credible reason to exist”, while the Position Title did not mince words, claiming that “Lady Gaga and her terrible gesture are superficial”. The ability to reserve the home begins at noon on December 6, according to the Airbnb listing.
