March Madness 2022 tickets: Final Four ticket prices drop ahead of Duke v UNC, Kansas v Villanova whistleblowing

NEW ORLEANS — What was to be one of the most expensive Final Four tickets ever has come close to normal?

It seems like the challenge for anyone wanting to get to the end of the Mississippi River and watch tonight’s clashes between Kansas vs. Villanova and Duke vs. North Carolina is actually getting to New Orleans in the first place. As we discussed earlier, prices for hotels and air travel from most of the country to Crescent City have skyrocketed.

So tonight’s ticket market is limited to those within driving distance of the Superdome. And for that reason, you can get a seat for a very reasonable fee to see what could be Mike Krzyzewski’s last game as head coach of the Blue Devils.

This has gone from being one of the most expensive Final Four tickets last weekend to one of the cheapest now, with no games played in between.

It seems that travel limits ticket prices more than the desire to be here. But New Orleans doesn’t have the biggest airport, isn’t exactly designed as a city for last-minute trips, and every AirBnb for dozens of miles is pretty pricey.

If this game was in New York or Philadelphia, or even a city like Houston or Los Angeles, we could see some serious upward price pressure. But in The Big Easy, it’s pretty easy to get to tonight’s Final Four double.

But you must already be there.
