McCall’s Ice bumper cars are an awesome way to beat the Idaho heat
Is a summer in Idaho really complete without a trip on HW 55 to enjoy a few days in McCall?
There’s so much to do when you visit our favorite little town in the summer. You can lace up your hiking boots and hike Loon Lake to the downed bomber plane of World War II.
You can do a mission to complete the McCall Ale Trait and get a commemorative koozie to show off to your friends. (Seriously, if you haven’t ventured outside of downtown McCall to try Broken Horn Brewing, you’re missing out on some of Idaho’s best beer.)
You need to go to Ice Cream Alley or McCall’s New Ice Cream Shop, Squatch Candy, which serves incredibly colorful, tasty and creative creations.
And in the morning? We make waffles. Ok… we leave that to McCall’s new breakfast destination, Brunch on the lake.
If you feel like doing nothing, fill up the cooler and go relax in North Beach! (Just make sure that if you visit North Beach or any of McCall’s waterfront parks between July 3 at 8 a.m. and July 5 at 8 a.m., those drinks are non-alcoholic. After a public inquiry, the City Council voted to maintain the alcohol ban which has been in place since 2016.)
Payette Lake is McCall’s most famous way to cool off, but it’s not the most creative! You’ll find McCall’s most creative way to cool off INSIDE the Manchester Ice Centre! We’re talking about the ice rink’s bumper cars!
Manchester Ice Center offers a similar experience to what you’ll find at Wahooz or Pojo’s but on a more slippery surface! When sessions are offered, the walks last 13 minutes and start every 15 minutes. Bumper car sessions are $9. If you want to do the bumper cars and enjoy the rest of the public skate session, you can purchase a combo ticket for $15.
Looking at their current schedule, the bumper cars run almost daily until the end of July! To see the dates and times, click on HERE!
