David Barberi is the Isabella County District Attorney. He says the woman started sending the messages in early 2021 and the number of messages sent is in the tens of thousands.

“We received tens of thousands of text messages, whether they were just for his daughter or for some of his daughter’s friends,” Barberi said. ABC News. “And, you know, the digital footprint was just crazy.”

The messages continued even after her daughter whistled

Licari’s daughter and her boyfriend’s parents reported the harassment to authorities, but she continued to text even after her identity was discovered. Licari allegedly used software that made the harassing texts appear to come from her daughter’s classmates.

When confronted, Licari admitted she was behind the text message but did not provide a reason for her behavior.
