Moulin Rouge Airbnb Listings

For the first time, you can (can) spend the night inside the Moulin Rouge windmill in Paris. Originally built in 1889 and rebuilt three decades later after a fire, the historic nightclub’s eponymous red windmill has never been open to the public. But in June, Airbnb opens a secret room inside for three separate overnight stays June 13, 20 and 27.

To ensure that the design of this hidden boudoir is faithful to the decor of the time, Airbnb worked with Jean-Claude Yon, a historian specializing in 19th century France.

“The Belle Époque era was a time when French culture and arts flourished – and no monument is more emblematic of this period than the Moulin Rouge,” Yon said in a press release.

The design of the secret room inside the windmill is meant to transport guests back to the Belle Epoque era.

To recreate this, Airbnb filled the space with Art Nouveau details like a cast iron bed, a miniature paper stage above the dresser, and a dressing room filled with vintage costumes. On the private roof terrace outside you will even find period garden furniture.

The host of this unique stay is the principal dancer Claudine Van Den Bergh. In addition to tickets to see her in the Moulin Rouge show, magic, guests can also join Van Den Bergh for a meet-and-greet in his dressing room and take photos onstage with the rest of the cast. But that’s not all. There will also be a private behind-the-scenes tour of the Moulin Rouge, aperitifs and a three-course dinner on the rooftop terrace outside the windmill, and breakfast in the morning.
