New York Rangers fans face James Dolan’s alcohol ban at MSG

James Dolan always seems to have a beef with someone. Now the Madison Square Garden owner, New York Rangers and New York Knicks are in the middle of a fight with the New York State Liquor Authority and Blue Shirt fans may be getting their beers knocked out in the melee.

As reported by Justin Tasch of nypost.com, Dolan was on “Good Day New York” on Fox 5 Thursday when he took aim at the liquor board. Under Dolan’s direction, Madison Square Garden security used facial recognition technology to enforce MSG property interdictions against attorneys suing James Dolan.

The article said the New York State Liquor Authority sent a letter to Madison Square Garden warning it may be operating as an “inauthentic” establishment, due to its banned list. “All retail alcohol licensees, except non-profit club licensees, must allow the general public access to their premises. Otherwise, they are considered ‘no bona fide’ “and therefore would have their license revoked. James Dolan doesn’t like being threatened. Ask former Knicks star Charles Oakley.

“They’re extremely aggressive and they say, ‘We’re going to take your liquor license away. So I have a little surprise for them. They’re basically doing this for publicity, so we’re going to publicize them. What we’re gonna do, okay, is we’re gonna pick a night, maybe a Rangers game, and we’re gonna shut down all liquor and liquor in the building. I’m not going to mind because I’ve been sober for 29 years. I don’t need alcohol. Looks like Dolan is all for taking the fun out of Rangers fans to prove a point or throw a punch. No date for the proposed alcohol ban has been announced.
