Overturned dump truck crash causes interstate lanes to close in Birmingham

At least one person was injured when a dump truck overturned in a crash on Interstate 59/20 in Birmingham. Police and firefighters responded to the crash site near the Arkadelphia Road exit around 10.30am Wednesday. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service said the accident involved two vehicles, including the dump truck. The dump truck driver was trapped for some time, but was rescued and taken to hospital for medical treatment. All northbound lanes appeared to be closed at the time of the crash, but some traffic was permitted to use the emergency lanes around the crash site.
