People share advice for anyone moving from Ontario to British Columbia and what it really looks like

Ontario and British Columbia are different in many ways, so you need to be prepared if you’re moving across Canada.

Someone considering moving from Ontario to British Columbia took to Reddit for advice and got some very helpful tips that anyone moving to the province should probably know.

Moving across the country comes with serious complications. You need to find a place to live, ship your stuff, and book flights or take a serious road trip.

The worst part is that you’re probably going to have to do everything remotely.

Fortunately, the BC Reddit community was eager to weigh in.

Housing was a big concern for many people, of course. Several people have suggested renting an Airbnb for the first month of your visit.

Not only is BC very expensive, but there are apparently rental scams you should watch out for.

There were even some super helpful tax tips, so at least you can save some money on the expensive move.

Warnings have also been issued to anyone traveling in the province. It may be beautiful in BC, but the prices are no joke.

Some of the tips were things you probably wouldn’t have thought of.

One user said, “If you’re importing a vehicle, be aware if the underside is rusty, can’t get through (look into it), and no tint on the driver/passenger windows.”

“Also to ship your stuff (large items/household items) use freight. It’s cheaper than Canada Post/Fedex/UPS,” they added.

Others were quite random.

So make a list and check that you’ve prepared for all of these things before you move to BC – and beware of expensive cheese.
