Police in downtown Malaga in Spain arrested six female pickpockets in the act in less than an hour

Malaga POLICE caught six women in the act of robbing unsuspecting tourists in the city center in less than an hour on Tuesday afternoon.

The women, who were serial thieves, had all been arrested by these same officers at least once before.

They were arrested in two separate groups by undercover agents from the Investigation and Protection Group (GIP) who knew their faces very well from previous arrests.

Cops spotted a pair of suspected robbers, aged 20 and 45, who were targeting a tourist who was walking around downtown with her bag open.

When they knocked, one of the women used clothing to conceal her hand in the bag, while the other woman stood guard, blocking the view of anyone watching.

The woman standing guard recognized the undercover officers watching their theft from previous encounters and urged her partner in crime to throw the stolen items into a bush.

The cops caught the women and managed to fish out what they had stolen from under the bush: two bank cards, one hundred euros, an American driver’s license and an access card to the cruise.

The victim accompanied the officers to the police station where they filed a complaint against the two women.

Minutes earlier, the same agents had caught a group of four women they knew well operating a very similar scam; targeting unsuspecting tourists who were unaware that their bags or pockets were not being monitored.

This group of women, all between the ages of 18 and 42, also recognized the officers from the previous thefts and quickly relinquished the stolen items.

The six women were arrested by the police and taken to the station, where it was noted that they had numerous previous convictions for theft.

Police were scrambling to trace their known addresses and residences as the group of serial thieves refused to release this information to make their search particularly difficult.
