Redbird Ribbon Cutting at Willow Creek Inn | KSNF/KODE
BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. — A new place to stay and relax has opened in Baxter Springs.
The Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon at the Redbird at Willow Creek Inn this morning.
This is not your typical short term rental.
It is a Victorian-style house from 1882, which has three bedrooms and one bathroom available for reservations on “AirBnb”.
It also has a gift shop, full of local artwork from artists across the four states.
The owners packed everything up and left Florida to take on the project.
They say they are looking forward to opening the property for community events in the spring and summer.
“We wanted to have a place, a home base, that was beautiful and something that we could share with a community. We wanted a small town. We wanted to be where people know and care about each other, so we can just step in and do the same,” said Julie Hallam, owner of Redbird At Willow Creek Inn.
The “AirBnb” and gift shop are now open, and the family is happy to offer tours for anyone interested in checking it out.
