The home overlooks the owners’ 270-acre, fourth-generation family farm in the heart of Vermont. Guests are rewarded with views of the Green Mountains from the back patio and private yard (you might even spot the occasional wandering lamb). Soak up the scenery as you cook dinner on the propane grill or roast marshmallows around the fire pit.

Inside, the house is rustic but extremely bright and modern. The vaulted living room would surely make Joanna Gaines swoon, with original hardwood floors, white walls, and cozy decor like a cast-iron stove and printed throw pillows. There are also books and a smart TV to help you relax.

The kitchen is truly country chic, and it is easy to imagine spending a few long afternoons there. There are plenty of vintage appliances on floating shelves, as well as distressed wood cabinets filled with mason jars and ceramic mugs if you want to soak up the fall vibes with cider. The hosts keep the pantry stocked with basic spices and staples, so you can definitely bake cookies or sourdough on a rainy afternoon.

There are two bedrooms in the house (in addition to a queen-size sofa bed): a downstairs king bedroom and a queen-size loft bedroom accessed by a spiral staircase from the living room . Both bedrooms are furnished with thick blankets, handmade chairs and framed pictures of farm life. There is also a soothingly decorated full bathroom that all guests can share.

Of course, you can choose to take your swimming activities outside once you see the property’s star amenities: an elevated deck with a hot tub, outdoor shower, and Scandinavian-style sauna. The terrace is just 20 feet from The Schoolhouse’s front door, so you can easily turn every day of your vacation into an impromptu spa day. The barrel sauna has an entire glass wall, so you don’t have to choose between detox and leaf watching. (And if you can’t visit during the fall, the hot tub and sauna are still available during the winter months.)

The school can accommodate up to six people, and it is currently listed at $342 per night. The listing has a near-perfect rating of 4.99, with reviewers describing it as “incredibly relaxing and peaceful”, “comfortable and tastefully decorated” and “a quiet respite among the sheep”.
