You know that feeling you get? You know this one: it’s where you want to single bag and get away to Miami Beach, but you don’t have the time (or the means) to do it. We understood; we often find ourselves feeling the same way. Well, we went to find a hidden luxury getaway in Jeffersonville, Indiana, right on the beautiful Ohio River, and with waterfront views from nearly every window, it’s easy to forget that you’re in the Midwest while you’re staying here. You’d be doing yourself a huge disservice by not visiting this gorgeous Indiana river home when planning your next last-minute getaway. What would you take in this one bag?

For us, that would probably be a bottle of wine and a good book, but the best part of it all is that you can do whatever you want.

You get the whole house to yourself; it’s incredibly sleek and very modern, yet still comfortable enough to relax and unwind.

The house’s exceptional location right next to the river makes it a coveted destination for getaways, anniversaries, vacations, honeymoons, and anything else you can imagine.

It sleeps up to eight very comfortably, but we totally understand if you’re feeling more alone, or better yet, a haven where all your worries melt away.

The open floor plan makes the whole place feel calm and spacious.

The neighborhood is as charming as the view of the river. It’s quiet and friendly, and it’s easy to feel like you live here.

Anyone looking for the elegance of a resort with all the comforts of home need look no further.

River Den is easily one of our favorite river houses we’ve ever covered. It’s really hard to top the amazing river views you get even from the rooms. Imagine waking up at sunrise by a river with a cup of coffee and that book we mentioned earlier. Pure paradise.

If you prefer to venture outside, Louisville is just a stone’s throw away, as are many restaurants, galleries, shops and more.

Of course, you can still get out on the water! Rent a boat or bring your own; boating in Ohio can be both invigorating and relaxing, and there are plenty of things to do in these areas.

We recommend reserving this one for around a month or two (although sometimes you can also get lucky with a reservation as soon as possible).
