Rossman Media acquires Hook & Blade, an “outsourced CMO” agency to expand its B2B division.

The combined, full-service agency offers expertise in social media, paid digital media, digital marketing, design, video production and web development.

PORTLAND, GOLD – Rossman Media, a Portland, Oregon-based social media agency, announced it has acquired Hook & Blade, a Tampa Bay-area “fractional CMO” agency. The combined companies will operate as Rossman Media, cementing itself as one of the world’s leading social media marketing agencies.

Rossman and Hook & Blade share a vision of strategy-driven marketing services and have historically been separated by their core competencies, namely B2C for Rossman and B2B for H&B. The acquisition enables Rossman to grow its B2B division and adopt the customer journey, the “outsourced CMO” model used by H&B. Joining forces will also provide clients with stronger digital capabilities, especially in areas such as creative direction, marketing strategy and video storytelling.

The merger creates a company with 43 employees and a run rate of $6 million; including more than 90% annualized recurring revenue. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Both agencies serve clients in a wide range of industries, from Airbnb to Saks 5th Avenue. The addition of H&B brings B2B expertise to industries such as healthcare, franchising, long-term care, sports, recruiting/staffing, mobility, and more.
