Six flights canceled due to bad weather in Madeira

According to information available on the ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal website, three flights operated by TAP, from Lisbon and Porto, and three other flights operated by Jet2.com, from the United Kingdom, have been canceled due to strong winds that were felt at the airport located in the municipality of Santa Cruz in the east of Madeira.

The operation of the archipelago airport has been adapted since Saturday.

On the other hand, the strong sea agitation caused the cancellation of the trip of the Lobo Marinho, which established the connection between Madeira and Porto Santo, and prevented a cruise ship from docking in the port of Funchal.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has placed the south coast of Madeira and Puerto Santo with a yellow warning due to sea waves until 3:00 p.m. today.

The north and south coast of Madeira and the mountainous areas of the island are also subject to a yellow rain warning, sometimes heavy, which can sometimes come in the form of hail with thunderstorms (until 12:00 p.m. today) and sometimes strong northeast winds. (until 3 p.m. today). ).

A yellow alert is issued by the IPMA when the weather presents a risk for certain activities.
