So far, 820,000 Ukrainian migrants have reached Hungary’s borders

Due to the increasingly intense war in Ukraine, the number of migrants to Hungary’s eastern borders continues to rise, with more than 10,000 refugees arriving every day, reaching over 820,000 so far.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó also said migratory pressure on Hungary’s southern border had reached a “new level of danger”. SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

The announcement was published immediately after a July 4 meeting between Minister Szijjártó and his Serbian counterpart Nikola Selakovic.

Throughout the meeting, Minister Szijjártó said immigrants were often aggressive and violent, and now they also own and use weapons.

“Europe faced ‘dramatic challenges’, including a ‘permanent inflationary environment’ due to the war in Ukraine and sanctions against Russia. “The migrant crisis is worsening…and Hungary must face this challenge which presents itself as simultaneous pressure from the south and the east”, he also noted.

Minister Szijjártó also added that the migrants passed through safe countries and crossed several borders, saying that by the time they arrived in Serbia, these migrants had committed a series of crimes.

He also claims that due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, the situation will become more and more serious, thus leading to the threat of famine in some countries of the world.

The food supply crisis is likely to exert greater migratory pressure on Serbia and Hungary. Therefore, I believe that we are in the last hour that Brussels and the NGOs linked to [US financier] George Soros should stop encouraging migrants and organizing migration,” Szijjártó emphasized in this regard.

At the same time, Hungary asked Brussels and NGOs associated with Soros not to encourage immigrants to commit crimes and violate the sovereignty of countries, such as Serbia in this case and Hungary.

Minister Szijjártó warned that illegal immigrants would not be allowed to enter Hungary, advising them not to even try.

He also warned migrants to stop trying to enter Serbia to get to Hungary from there, as such a thing is not possible either.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Szijjártó affirmed that the cooperation between Serbia and Hungary is a success, with a spectacular increase in exchanges between the two countries.

In the first four months of 2022, trade increased by 117% compared to the same period last year, and the increase was 42% for the whole of 2021 compared to last year.

On July 7, the National Police Headquarters (ORFK) revealed that 6,292 people entered Hungary directly from Ukraine, while another 4,468 people from Ukraine crossed from Romania. In addition, the Budapest police received 117 refugees, including 40 children, who arrived by train.
