Some of Tampa Bay’s quirkiest Airbnb properties From a private island to a farm, some of these Airbnb listings in the Bay Area might just be the perfect spot.

Dive into Airbnb and you’ll see that the app lets you sort rentals by property type. In addition to ‘apartment, ‘house’ and ‘guesthouse’, the site includes options to search for rentals tagged as ‘boat’, ‘treehouse’, ‘castle’, ‘cave’ or ‘farmhouse’. . what other quirky and unique rentals are available around Tampa Bay.

From the list: “Rest for the night in one of the 3 bedrooms of the house. The mezzanine bedroom has a king-size bed and a bathroom with a sofa bed, equipped with a Jacuzzi, you are therefore assured of a relaxing stay and peaceful respite.”

To note : Geodesic-domed homes such as this three-bedroom one built in 1994 at 11955 119th St., Largo, have been a cult following since they first appeared in the 1950s. Developers say they’re more spacious, energy-efficient and sturdier than a typical house.

Price per night: $92

From the list: “Escape to your private island a stone’s throw from civilization yet millions of miles away. Relax with expansive oceanfront blue water views in an exotic resort that will take you to kilometers farther than you have actually travelled.”

To note : This six-bedroom “tree house” made up of octagonal modules connected by covered walkways sits on Jewfish Key, a small island off Longboat Key accessible only by boat. Luckily, the rental comes with a 25-foot pontoon boat that the owners say can be used to reach eight restaurants within a half-mile radius.

Price per night: $1,100

From the list: “Located in the National Historic District of Ybor City, our award-winning little cottage blends perfectly with the charm of its older neighbors while offering all the modern conveniences. Nestled nicely away from the energy of the famous 7th Avenue of Ybor is a short walk to many dining and entertainment options.”

To note : If you’re intrigued by the tiny home trend of the past few years, but aren’t sure if you could actually live there, here’s your chance to try before you buy. This home sleeps two and measures 365 square feet on the first floor, with an 80 square foot loft.

Price per night: $105

From the list: “Historic and famous August A. Busch/Anheuser Busch/Budweiser Waterfront Intercoastal Estate and Compound now known as Birds Of Paradise Boutique Resort. This resort covers an entire city block on the water!”

To note : Among the many notables who visited the complex during its time when it was owned by beer titan Busch were Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Arnold Palmer, Farrah Fawcett and Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler.

Price per night: $3,933

From the list: “This unique property offers a peaceful and relaxing farm living environment. Whether you want to sit in a rocking chair overlooking the grounds, play foosball or ping pong in the games room, take a stroll to see all animals, including cows, donkeys, goats, chickens, rabbits and horses.”

To note : This property can accommodate over two dozen people and features a pool, basketball court, and tree house. The owners also offer a golf cart to get around the property for an additional $20 per day. A note about farm animals: “Guests and Guest’s party assume full responsibility for any injury sustained by any farm animal. Guests may feed and/or pet animals outside of the fence at their own risk.”

To note : Of all the unique categories by which you can filter a search in Airbnb, the most fruitful in Tampa Bay, perhaps unsurprisingly, is “boat.” You can find everything from this modest houseboat in Tarpon Springs to an 84-foot luxury motor yacht docked in South Pasadena that rents for $289 a night.
