Visiting the Charleston area in the next few months and still need to find a safe place to stay? Well, even if you weren’t going to Charleston, you might decide to come after you experience this amazing AirBnB boat in South Carolina. Before you start worrying about your sea legs or feeling dizzy on the water… take a look below.

In these uncertain times, keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket-to-visit list at a later date.

The Hakuna Matata is a 35-foot Chris Craft luxury yacht … sunk six feet into the ground and is one of the most unique AirBnB rentals in the state.

It is located in Summerville, just minutes from Charleston.

Please note that the boat requires you to climb a few steps to get to the deck (where you will find an outdoor seating area) and then a few steep steps down into the cabin. After all, it’s a boat.


The boat can comfortably accommodate up to four people.

There is a king size bed, a twin bed and for the fourth person you will need to request an air mattress.

If you’ve never slept on a boat – in the middle of the yard (not many of us have!) Then now is your chance!
The boat is equipped with all linens, fridge, microwave, dishes, utensils, running hot water, heat and air, to name just a few of the many equipment.
It also has its own bathroom which doubles as a shower.
In the backyard you will find a community fireplace, a playground and a grill area.

The Hakuna Matata shares the yard with three other small AirBnB rentals: a treehouse, a cottage and a small house.


By far the most unique of all is the 35ft Chris Craft sunk deep into the ground.
