The holiday season often sees a few changes to store opening days and times, as many businesses want to give their staff a break.
Some still open on The day after Christmas Once Christmas Day is over, many people want to make the most of the deals as the New Year approaches.
However, some will remain closed December 26. If you plan to go shopping that day it can be useful to know which channels will be closed so as not to lose the trip.
Here are some of the businesses that will remain closed The day after Christmas.
Which stores will remain closed on Boxing Day?
Aldi
Aldi confirmed that it will be closing on Boxing Day this year to show its appreciation to staff members.
Kelly Stokes, Director of Recruitment at United Kingdomsaid: “Our amazing colleagues play a vital role in keeping our shelves stocked all year round, which is why, once again, we will also be keeping our stores closed on Boxing Day as a thank you for all their hard work.”
Home Bargains
Home Bargains announced in October that they would remain closed on Boxing Day to allow staff to spend time with their families.
In a statement on Facebook, the retailer said: “All of our stores will close for Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. enjoy the Christmas holidays with your loved ones.”
Iceland
Iceland and its spin-off brand The Food Warehouse also announced in October that they would be closed on Boxing Day.
The supermarket’s general manager, Richard Walker, tweeted: ‘We will be closing all of our Iceland and Food Warehouse stores on Boxing Day, to give our colleagues some well deserved rest with their friends and family.

Poundland
The budget retailer will close its doors on Boxing Day, which will be the third year in a row that it has done so.
Simon Wells, Human Resources Director of Poundland & Dealz, said: ‘We really appreciate the hard work of our colleagues over the year and are closing stores on the extra days over Christmas and New Years so they can take advantage of a well-deserved break with friends and family. ”

Pets at home
Pets at Home will also be closed on Boxing Day for the third consecutive year, although some veterinary practices in their stores will remain open.
Chief Executive Lyssa McGowan said: “Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and the decision to close our stores again on Boxing Day is just a small way of saying thank you.
Other closures
Apart from the previously mentioned brands, Lidl, M&S and Waitrose will also not open on Boxing Day.
