Florida is one of the most popular destinations for families looking for short-term rentals, according to data published by Airbnb.
With so much profit to be made in this industry, many short-term rental hosts are trying to stand out to renters.
The purple walls at a local place may bring back many memories for fans of the hit series Friends from the 90s.
“In the freezer we actually have a copy of The Shining, just like on the TV show,” super host Frank Albert said.
Could this place be more nostalgic?
“We made a photo wall of all the umbrellas in different colors to bring out the intro theme where they’re all on the couch carrying the umbrellas in the rain by the fountain,” Albert added.
Albert said he hopes Central Perk’s reminders and referrals will be there for you beyond one night.
“I really want it to be a trip down memory lane for all the fan friends when they come and stay here and they can walk around and take pictures of everything and yes, relive their childhood or even their adulthood,” said said Albert.
According to Airbnb, revenue for typical Airbnb hosts in 2021 increased 85% from 2019, while Florida was the second-largest US state for new host revenue.
Those kinds of numbers make spending so much time on the details totally worth it.
“This has Rachel’s meat trifle which is where…she accidentally combined and mixed two recipes and she put beef in the trifle,” Albert said. “Just being able to put a roof over someone’s head gives me joy but to be able to put a theme and a memory behind that too, I think it means a lot to people,” added Albert .
