Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-owner sells $ 55 million Palm Beach mansion

Darcie Glazer Kassewitz– a co-owner of the reigning NFL champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers-and her husband, Joel kassewitz, sell their waterfront estate in one of the country’s hottest luxury markets.

“The main part that sets this property apart is the property itself. Can’t find 2 acres in Palm Beach, ”explains listing agent, Gary Pohrer by Douglas Elliman. “Palm Beach is made up of smaller properties, so being able to have that much space is a bit unheard of.”

Measuring 10,171 square feet, the home offers 220 feet of waterfront on the Intracoastal Waterway. It’s private, which Pohrer says the sellers appreciated.

Glazer Kassewitz is co-owner of the Buccaneers and heads both the Glazer Vision Foundation and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation.

The couple have owned the home since 2018, and Pohrer says it’s the privacy that drew them to this home. A plot of this size in Palm Beach typically accommodates more than one house.

“The [property] next to the north, there are two houses on it, and the one to the south, there are three houses, maybe four in the same area. The person who buys this property is going to want security and privacy, ”says Pohrer.

The house was built in 1936 for Isabel Collier Read, the daughter-in-law of Barron gift necklace. Collier was a leading developer, and Florida Collier County bears his name.

Collier Read died in 2008 at the age of 89.

After their purchase three years ago, sellers have updated a number of areas of the classic home. The kitchen, some of the upstairs bathrooms, the reception and the cinema room have all been given a makeover.

The spacious main house has four bedrooms. Overnight guests have the option of enjoying a two bedroom guesthouse.

A beautiful living room offers a view in both directions: the large swimming pool in the front or the stream in the back.

The mansion sits in a rare spot where the very thin Intracoastal Waterway widens. The body of water behind the house is rare for this area.

“Having a mile-wide view of the water is important. If you go to other areas, you could throw a soccer ball twice and be over the Intracoastal, ”says Pohrer. “It’s something this house has that others can’t.”

The waterfront provides another convenience for all buyers who wish to perfect their golf game in private.

“You have this amazing area with a small golf hole with its own green, hitting areas and a bunker that is fun to play with,” says Pohrer. “The pool is on the continental side of the house and the golf hole is on the Intracoastal, so that shows where their priorities are.”

Glazer Kassewitz’s father, the late Malcom Glazer, bought the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1995, and the team is now owned by his six children, Glazer Kassewitz as well as Bryan, Edward, Joel, Avram, and Kevin glazer. Earlier this year, the Bucs won the Super Bowl in their stadium.

The Glazers also own Manchester United, a Premier League football club in England.

Pohrer says the couple spent more time across the state in the Tampa region, so they decided to sell this property.

However, the next buyer can choose to demolish this big old mansion and start over on the premium plot.

“I wouldn’t doubt if [the buyer] lived there for a few years, then they decide to create their own property from scratch. This is what I guess is probably going to happen, ”he says. “It’s a big house, but in today’s world the land is so worth it that a buyer of this caliber can choose to start over and not work in the 1930s house.”
