The 11 best Halloween events happening in Glasgow this year

Here to help you have a BOO-zy Halloween!

Happy October! This month is filled with lots of typical autumn things: mid-terms, rainy weather, the return of a dark 5 p.m., but also Halloween! Whether you love to dress up or you hate it, Halloween events are always a great excuse for a classy night out and I highly recommend you take a look at this list to see what Glasgow has to offer compared to ” Halloweek”.

1. The Big Spooky Halloween Quiz

Committee room nĀ°9. (Friday, October 28)

If club nights aren’t your thing, maybe a pub quiz will be? A laid-back vibe, an opportunity to dress up without having to go dancing, and a massive online bar tab? Sign me up!

2. After Dark with Dami Hope

Rumor (Sunday October 30)

OnTheLow is hosting a Halloween club night at Rumor with special guest, Love Island 2022 alum Dami Hope! With DJs playing afrobeat, hip-hop, rap and more, this event is sure to be a good one! Costumes are optional (but come on, it’s Halloween). 10:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. pure vibes in my opinion. Tickets are nearly sold out, but get the last tickets and table packages for the event here.

3. Down the Rabbit Hole: Psychedelic Wonderland

Oran Mor (Friday 28 October)

An immersive Halloween experience with the event described as having a 10ft Mad Hatter, trippy visuals, giant inflatable bunnies and more. This goofy event seems quite unforgettable and, in my opinion, quite unmissable.

4. Rocky Horror’s Halloween Cry

Platform (Saturday, October 29)

An absolute Halloween classic. This event is a chorus screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show complete with (hopefully) tribute costumes, but I couldn’t find anything to confirm this – although this may be the only place no one will tell you would give two looks if you showed in shiny gold pants and nothing else.

5. GlasGLOW

Botanical Gardens (October 26 ā€“ November 13)

A Glasgow classic. The Botanical Gardens are transformed with beautiful lights and a new theme each year (this year ‘The Land That Time Forgot’, aka dinosaurs – yas). Their website reads, ā€œGlasGLOW is back this Halloween, bigger and better than ever, after four sold-out years and thousands of five-star reviews. Explore Glasgow Botanic Gardens, with an epic 60 minute outdoor adventure, featuring the return of Marshmallow Land, our street food village and a spectacular GLOW bar.

Basically a load of wholesome fun and pretty lights! Definitely worth a visit with your grandma, pals or S/O. Tickets sell out fast but get yours here.

6. Bongo’s Bingo presents House Of Boo by Southern Comfort

SWG3 (Thursday, October 27)

Who doesn’t love a little bingo?! The SWG3 classic is having a Halloween special that looks pretty classy to me.

7. Halloween House Disco

The social. (Saturday October 29)

Gifts, DJs, musicians, costumes, cocktails. What more could you ask for on Halloween? Or more precisely, the Friday before Halloween.

8. HALLOWEEN XL

Sub Club (Monday October 31)

A Subbie classic. Maybe don’t try too hard in your costume because you’ll probably end up sweating and dirty within the hour anyway…

9. Lady Balls Bingo Halloween Special

Hillhead Bookclub (Wednesday 27)

Drag and bingo go hand in hand. Add a little spookiness and you have a fabulous evening. Plus it’s free entry – so absolutely no excuses.

10. Halloween day and night

The Sanctuary (Sunday October 30)

Sanc on Sunday but make it a 4pm start – I applaud you if you run the full event, God knows I’d be asleep in the area. As with all of this, costumes are expected but not required.

11. Halloween Hive

GUU (Monday October 31)

Of course, when it was confirmed with us, we had to include this one! How could we not?

Did this list inspire you to attend something next week? Are there any we missed that you will attend? What costume are you wearing? Tell us about our instagram.
