German host: “I do not wish to receive guests from Hungary.”

However, just before the planned trip, the Hungarian received an unexpected surprise. The German host wrote a rather unpleasant message: “Dear Sir or Madam, after the recent statements of the Hungarian Prime Minister, I do not wish to receive guests from Hungary. That’s why I ask you to cancel your reservation. The message probably refers to Viktor Orbán’s last speech on how Hungarians do not want to become a mixed race.

The Hungarian group did not cancel the accommodation

Despite being strongly advised to do so, the Hungarians have not canceled the accommodation – at least not yet. They wrote to booking.com on Wednesday and told the host that they would not cancel their booking under any circumstances. Now they could only rent similar accommodation for three times as much as originally. This means that they could have to pay more than 1,000 euros for the new accommodation.

The Hungarian doesn’t agree with Orbán or the German host

Asked about his opinion on the matter, the man said, “My opinion doesn’t matter, but Orbán shouldn’t say things like a responsible leader. And the host’s reaction is outrageous and discriminatory. The man says he was ready to discuss the matter because he would be happy if they came to some sort of resolution. “And U.S [Hungarians] should do something. They are slowly driving us out of the union. – he added.
