The Holiday’s iconic cottage is now available to rent on Airbnb
If there’s one thing that injects a bit of Christmas spirit, it’s party movies (opens in a new tab). Whether you’re a fan of classics like Alone at home and Santaor prefer some die hard with a mulled wine, the fact remains that it is difficult not to feel festive with a good dose of Hollywood.
However, if your Christmas movie list has a heavy emphasis on romantic comedies, then the likes of love in fact (opens in a new tab) and last christmas will keep you company.
And if you are a fan of Holidays, so guess what? You no longer have to pretend to be Cameron Diaz (opens in a new tab) move into this lovely, quaint little cottage – you can actually stay there.
The house belongs to Kate Winslet’s character, Iris, in the film, and when she decides to pack her bags for a getaway to Los Angeles, Amanda comes to stay there. And it was at Rosehill Cottage that she met Jude Law – and, spoiler alert, the couple inevitably fell in love.
Featuring a cantou and original wooden beams as seen in the film, the gite is available for rent on Airbnb (opens in a new tab).
The cottage was recreated in a studio in London for filming, but the original residence in Holmbury St Mary has wonderful views of the Surrey Hills and is surrounded by greenery. Nice.
The charming cottage includes an al fresco dining area, as well as a log burner, AGA in the kitchen and underfloor heating throughout the ground floor.
With two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, two toilets and a bath and shower, this is the perfect country retreat.
It’s only an hour from London – and the seaside – and it’s a cozy little dream.
Want to recreate Holidays in 2023?
A stay here will set you back £283 per night, and the property is available to rent from January, so if you’re looking for a little getaway to banish the post-Christmas blues, book now.
