The wackiest Airbnb ads of the year

The Dreamy Tropical Tree House in Hawaii, The Bubble Suite in Mexico, Treehouse Blue Mountains in Australia and The Cabana Floripa in Brazil (Airbnb)

Airbnbs aren’t just a convenient place to stay while traveling, some can also be an experience in themselves.

The recent Confused.com post came out with a roll call of the weirdest and weirdest lists on the site, as compiled by the New York Post. The collection spans the United States and beyond, with an emphasis on unique offerings.

“Vacationers are much more interested in finding a unique vacation,” Confused.com’s Jessica Willock told the Post.

Topping the publication’s ranking is the Campera Hotel in Mexico, also known as the Bubble Suite. Travelers can stay in the bubble-shaped shelters for $ 215 per night, enjoying a semi-outdoor experience similar to glamping – each of the dozen bubbles has a private bathroom and a double bed.

Second place belongs to the Dreamy Tropical Tree House in Hawaii. The treehouse has a 360 degree view of the surrounding tropical jungle and will not break the bank at $ 300 per night. Unfortunately, only the most careful of planners will be able to stay at the treehouse, as no reservations are available until January… 2023.

Another treehouse is on the list of the most expensive included properties. the Cabin in the Blue Mountains in Australia can cost guests up to $ 1,685 per night (although reservations currently cost only half). For the price, guests will be surrounded by 600 acres of private wilderness, including the rainforest of the Blue Mountains.

Opposite the price spectrum is Floripa hut in Brazil. The unique listing has walls constructed from recycled bottles, and guests can rest on repurposed furniture. The Eco List can be booked for as little as $ 21 per night.

As travelers attempt to escape their homes, the increase in unique listings on Airbnb will only increase.

“Weird is the word for vacation hunters in 2021, with increasing demand in many of the larger countries,” Confused.com wrote in its report. “After seeing the same four walls for much of 2020, it seems like people are more eager to say something strange than ever.”
