There’s a deadly cobra on the loose somewhere in Missouri.

You might want to be careful where you step if you go on an adventure in the woods of Missouri. There is a report that a deadly cobra just got loose and was not accounted for.

Fox 2 St. Louis shared the good news that Venom Fest took place in Moscow Mills, Missouri Saturday and Sunday. They report that Saturday was uneventful, but Sunday was a different matter altogether. Word is that their festival featured 200-300 snakes, but 1 was missing. This missing snake is remarkable since say it’s a deadly cobra. Yeah.

It’s possible someone stole this big snake, but there’s no way to be sure. The report says organizers searched for this cobra for 6-7 hours, but were unable to locate it.

human society has a website dedicated to what you do when you meet a snake in nature. The first thing you do is try to identify the type of snake you are dealing with. They don’t mention cobras specifically because that’s not a common thing in the US.

Live Science has some useful facts about cobras, including the fact that they have epic night vision and seek out warm places. It tells me that I’m canceling this campsite by the river for the night, but that’s just me.

You can follow the Venom Fest Facebook page for possible updates on when/if this deadly cobra is located. Until then, be careful.
