This 4-hour riverside train ride in Arizona takes you through rare nature and wildlife

Arizona may be known for its deserts, but there are some truly stunning green spaces hidden throughout the state – and you can only get the best views by train.

The Verde Canyon Railroad offers an incredible four-hour sightseeing experience through central Arizona, where you can see the state’s completely untouched greenery from a route only a train can reach.

The $99/person 40-mile round-trip takes you past Verde Canyon’s stunning rock formations, cactus-covered slopes, and green-lined rivers, all while enjoying the comfort of a vintage train .

And this is no ordinary train. The Verde Canyon Railroad includes outdoor observation cars that give you a 360-degree panoramic view of your surroundings, with photo and video opportunities as you traverse Verde Canyon.

The train crew is also well-versed in the area’s history, geology, and wildlife, so you can learn about rare plants and rock formations while enjoying the scenic views.

The vintage train has been completely refurbished and every passenger is greeted with a complimentary champagne toast once aboard one of the 10-passenger carriages.

Each car has massive windows, full air conditioning and a lavatory. You’ll also be able to listen to a narrator offering lots of information about the train’s destination, mixed with classic railroad tunes.

If you would like to make a private booking, an exclusive caboose is available for a group of six adults. The tail car is super comfortable, with oversized chairs, domed seats for a bird’s eye view, and two private outdoor viewing platforms.

Although you receive a free glass of champagne on boarding, as well as finger foods, all other alcoholic beverages must be purchased separately.
