The family and I were looking at options and budget to see what we could do with regards to a weekend getaway or spring stay. After discussing it, we decided to do a little holiday or stay at Medicine Park, OK. It’s only a 15-25 minute drive from Lawton, Fort SIll, so it definitely won’t break the budget.

There are tons of things to see and do there. Plus, throughout the spring and summer months, they have all kinds of special events and festivals pass. There are places to stay, or you can do a day and come home if you want. I think we’ll book a room, maybe a cabin, and make it a weekend.

Looking forward to some swimming, wading and floating in Bath Lake. Then grab the poles and go fishing, then hiking and sightseeing. Of course, we’ll have to take a trip through the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge. While we’re at it, we’ll go to the aquariumif you’ve never been there, you’re missing out.

One of my favorite things about Medicine Park is all the awesome food. They have some of the best restaurants and snack bars be found anywhere in the state, possibly the Nation. Of course I like all shopshanging out, and all the events and parties but the food is my all time favorite thing in Medicine Park.

In all the years I have been to Medicine Park I can honestly say that I have never encountered a rude or unfriendly person, not one. Everyone is always welcoming, super friendly and helpful. This city loves visitors and travelers from across the state and the world for that matter. And it’s here in Southwest Oklahoma and only minutes from Lawton, Fort Sill. It’s the perfect vacation getaway or staycation without breaking the bank!
