Thom Lesiecki named new River View football coach
WARSAW – Thom Lesiecki is the new head football coach at River View High School.
Lesiecki comes from Claymont High School after serving as head football coach during the 2015-2017 seasons. Lesiecki was head coach Eric Henry’s offensive coordinator during the 2019 season.
“Great night tonight as I got hired as head football coach at River View High School. Excited to get started. Let’s go Black Bears,” Lesiecki tweeted.
Lesiecki succeeds Mike Hemming, who stepped down Jan. 13 after five seasons at the helm of RV.
“We are very pleased to have Thom Lesiecki as our new football coach,” Superintendent Chuck Rinkes, Principal Alan Keesee and Athletic Director Katie Wesney said in a press release. “Coach Lesiecki brings a lot of knowledge for our football program with his past experiences. I look forward to the future of River View Football.
Lesiecki will be a substitute teacher for the district at this time.
Prior to his move to Claymont, Lesiecki was the Chief of Brookside in Sheffield (County Lorain).
Lesiecki was also head coach at New London (2003-06) and Lorain Catholic (1997-2002) before Brookside and Claymont.
He was also an assistant coach at Elyria Catholic (including 1983-84 state champions), Trinity, Holy Name, Collins Western Reserve and Oberlin College.
