Unique Florida Vacation Rentals Include Treehouses, Sheds, Huts & Yurts – South Florida Sun Sentinel

Whether you’re a Floridian looking for a more adventurous type of vacation, or a tourist looking to avoid theme parks and resorts in favor of tiny homes or shipping containers, the internet has plenty of weird options. and wonderful in the Sunshine State.

Travelers’ interest in unusual and off-the-beaten-path accommodations “absolutely” continues to grow, said Benjamin Breit, spokesperson for Airbnb Florida. In response, he said, this summer Airbnb will add a “unique” search filter that will allow users to search specifically for those more unconventional properties.

“A lot of what we see in terms of Airbnb guests, what they’re looking for is a different kind of experience, an authentic experience and a magical experience,” said Breit.

Other sites, like VRBO.com, acronym for Vacation Rentals By Owner, and GlampingHub.com also list some pretty cool places to stay. (The word “glamping” is a combination of glamor and camping, is “also known as luxury camping or glamorous camping”, according to Glamping Hub.)

As the summer vacation season approaches, we’ve decided to put together some of the more offbeat announcements here. Check them:
