Veuve Clicquot organizes a trip on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express – Robb Report

The only thing better than a luxury form trip is a luxury train journey organized by Veuve Cliquot.

To celebrate its 250th anniversary, the house joined forces with other LVMH Mark Belmond organize a sparkling and one-of-a-kind experience for champagne connoisseurs on board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

Inspired by Veuve’s iconic yellow label, the Deux Nuits Solar Path, or “journey around the sun” as the house calls it, will take its guests from France to Italy in the greatest luxury. You can expect the best Brut and haute cuisine, as well as lavish accommodations and stunning scenery.

The journey begins at Veuve Clicquot’s Manoir De Verzy in Reims.

“The Venice The Simplon-Orient-Express experience takes passengers on an immersive journey to discover the know-how and cultural imprint of Maison Veuve Clicquot, on the occasion of its 250th anniversary,” said the CEO of Veuve Clicquot, Jean-Marc Gallot. Robb Report by email.

The experience aptly begins at sunrise at Veuve Clicquot in Reims, France. It was here that the house began making champagne in 1772, shortly before Madame Clicquot took over and made Veuve the juggernaut it is today. Guests will attend an immersive lunch and taste a range of coveted cuvées in the Crayères Veuve Clicquot with cellar master Didier Mariotti, before boarding the train.

On board, you’ll find staterooms that evoke the elegance of a bygone era and are rich in craftsmanship. You can opt for a comfortable twin cabin or upgrade to an exclusive cabin suite or one of the six large suites equipped with a private bathroom. If you book one of the suites, you will also receive a celebratory breakfast in the restaurant car during the trip and one night at the Hôtel du Marc de Veuve Clicquot in Reims before departure.

As the train follows the route of shipping the first bottles of Veuve, guests will be treated to a four-course dinner by celebrity French chef Jean Imbert, before enjoying a glass – or two, or three – during a glamorous evening at Bar Car 3674. The next morning the train will cross the Alps and customers can watch the sunrise from their cabins or bask in the light at Innsbruck station. (It all depends on how well you recover from the night before.)

Upon arrival in Venice, you will be taken by boat to Belmond’s Hotel Cipriani on the island of Giudecca for one night. The trip ends with a “Sunset” ball which pays homage to Veuve solar lifestyle.

“We are delighted to have this opportunity to honor our anniversary and present our iconic champagne brand with the utmost elegance, inspired by the bold and optimistic spirit of Madame Clicquot,” added Gallot.

We’ll raise a glass to that.

The Solaire Journey will take place from June 5 to 7 and you can buy tickets here. Prices for two people start at around $16,753 (£12,400) for a twin cabin, $28,373 (£21,000) for a cabin suite and $58,103 (£43,000) for a large suite.
