What year !
2022 marked the second year for the new Orange Factory Racing team and wow oh wow, it was a good year!
’22 saw Joe, Lachlan, and Tom take on the full EWS, a load of EWS-E, and many other special and one-time events.
We’ve traveled the world, launched the Switch 7, launched the 279, launched the PhaseMX, dived into a few World Cup downhills, made a bunch of new friends and spread the word of Orange around the world.
Choosing highlights is always difficult, but to name a few:
Lachlan Blair has been in 3 DH World Cup races – 33rd at Fort Bill, not bad!
… and his 38th place at Sugarloaf EWS
… and his 43rd at Petzen EWS
Joe Connell’s 32nd place at Innerleithen EWS with 2 best stage 10 times
… and his 37th place at Loudenvielle EWS with 2 stage times in the top 25
…and see him ride his custom 279 EWS super-enduro bike
And of course Tom Wilson’s 24th at EWS-E on his PhaseMX
… and his 31st at EWS-E in Valberg
… and its 70th at the EWS in Innerleithen
But of course it wasn’t just the race results that made our year so good. It’s all the good times, the travels, the adventure and the people who really made it.
The A-Line and Dirt Merchant rides, our Haunted House AirBnB in Vermont, Dez’s dance, Dan the Mechanic running double runs in the day and stretching into the night (with a top 3 at EWS-E !), Kelvin’s cooking and questionable choice of accommodation, lost luggage, countless delays, 60-hour transits between Edinburgh and Vancouver, Tom and Lachy’s Kendama obsession, Joe’s timing, shooting, bowling… The list is endless.
