Wharf Owners and Gulfstream Park Partner with Carousel Club

There isn’t a view that Breakwater Hospitality, the group behind the Wharf, can’t make interesting. They’ve taken empty land along Miami’s dodgy river and given us a whole new section of downtown to enjoy. Likewise, the Wharf Fort Lauderdale contributed to the scene that is now the bustling waterfront of Las Olas. And the next piece of property they’re pioneering is inland, with more exciting entertainment than any view of the water could provide.

Introducing the Carousel Club, a whimsical outdoor lounge overlooking the Gulfstream Park Racecourse. Created in collaboration with 1/ST EXPERIENCE, the entertainment brand under the operators of Gulfstream Park, the expansive tent space combines a terrace with sofas and bungalow seats, a lawn for games and, the piece de resistance, a large antique carousel that doubles as a bar, surrounded by seating and nearby high tops where you’ll be just close enough to the action.

During the day, the Carousel Club aims to be a family atmosphere and a lively place to watch thoroughbred races. At night, expect the space to transform into a full-fledged outdoor club with DJs, bottle service, craft cocktails, and the possibility of live entertainment. Food will be available throughout the day through pop-ups like Spris Artisan Pizza and Los Altos Taqueria from Mad Room Hospitality. “We love the tradition behind this sport, but also appreciate that this concept is not limited to thoroughbred horse racing. It allows us to showcase our form of hospitality in such a classy and unique setting,” says Emi Guerra, co-owner of Breakwater Hospitality Group.

That said, an interest in horse racing is not required to participate. The Carousel Club is open to the public weekly on Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning at noon on February 18. Visit their website for a free cocktail during opening weekend, February 18-20.
