Where is Christmas weekend open for those in need

Places across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole will welcome those in need over the Christmas weekend.

On what can be a difficult day for many, some places in the conurbation will open their doors to welcome people.

Fika Cafe

The Fika Café on Westover Road in Bournemouth will be open again on Christmas Day, welcoming those who are alone.

Owner Rob Lindsell said to the Echo last month that the cafe will welcome anyone from the area who needs a safe and warm place.

He said: “Just a simple conversation and a few laughs shared together on an otherwise very difficult day for some can really make a difference.”

Echo of Bournemouth:

BCP Cry

BCP Shout Out will hold a Christmas Day street event in Bournemouth Gardens, starting at 10am on Christmas morning. The event will feature food, hot drinks and pastries, winter clothes and shoes, toiletries and new toys for children.

Free haircuts will be offered throughout the day, courtesy of the Barber #1 team.

BCP Shout Out said, “It’s a free event for everyone on this day as we recognize the number of people in need and it’s a great day to donate.”

We Are Humans will be in Bournemouth Square opposite Boots, offering a three-course Christmas dinner on Christmas Day. They will return on New Years Day to provide a three course meal to help those in need in the New Year.

Twynham Church, supported by the Christchurch Food Bank, is offering Christmas dinners to be delivered to those in need in Christchurch, hot and ready to eat. The deadline for reserving a church meal is December 20.
