Where was Glass Onion filmed? Filming locations you can visit from “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”.

Thanks to its fabulous flashiness, twisted minute-to-minute murder mystery plot, and Daniel Craig’s wonderfully wacky accent as Detective Benoit Blanc, it’s no wonder Glass onion: a mystery at loggerheads was such a hit over the holiday season.

A huge part of Glass OnionThe attraction of, however, is its setting. While the first Knives out the film is set in a very Cluedo-esque mansion in Massachusetts, USA, the second film is heading to a house called ‘Glass Onion’ on a private estate on fictional land Greek island called the island of Pisceshite. And, excitingly, you can actually visit many of his IRL filming locations.

Where was “Glass Onion” filmed?

A real life hotel and resort called Amanzoe became the “Glass Onion” and welcomed Blanc and the gang. And although the resort is not on a Greek island, it is on a piece of mainland Greece called Peloponnese – it still offers extraordinary views of the Ionian Sea and the rows of olive trees.

In terms of actual Greek islands, Glass Onion shot scenes on Spetses, which lies in the Saronic Gulf. The wearing of dapia on the northern coast of Spetses was specifically used to shoot a scene where the characters were waiting for a yacht to arrive.

Much of the film was not shot in Greece at all. Many of the hotel’s interior elements – as well as interior locations believed to be in New York or the northeastern United States – were built in the Serbian capital of Belgrade.

Don’t get me wrong, Amanzoe is a pretty exclusive place to stay. Some resort apartments cost up to $2,000 (£1,655) per night, which is, whichever way you look at it, quite expensive. The prices for the Villa 20 website where Glass Onion was mostly shot are available on request.

Either way, Amanzoe is open to the public – and reopens for the 2023 summer season on April 1. You can find out more about the resort and book here.

Glass Onion is now available on Netflix – read our review of the film here.
