3G will soon be shut down in Killeen, TX, what does this mean?

Starting today, 2/22/2022, AT&T will begin shutting down its 3G.

But what does that even mean?

It’s time to upgrade

Well, for starters, that means you might need to upgrade!

According to AT&T, the 3G network is being shut down as they will disable 3G towers and install “faster and more reliable 4G and 5G equipment. This is because they want to bring new features and faster speeds to their consumers. The shutdown will begin today, while Verizon and T-Mobile will follow later this year.

Who will be affected?

According to CBS Austin, those who will be affected are people with older phones. (maybe it’s time to get rid of that old flip phone, do you?) Some medical devices, tablets (it’s also time to let go of those old tablets) and home alarm systems can also be affected.

Phasing out 3G will also affect your car

Some cars could also lose important features such as automatic collision notifications, remote locks and navigation systems.

Alex Knizekof Consumer Reports, said CBS Austin this “This could impact vehicles from 2009, 2010 through 2021,”

Which cars will be affected by the shutdown of 3G?

According to consumer reportsUnless you install software and updates, car models such as Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru and more will not be able to use connected features that require 3G.

Devices that will not be affected by the phasing out of 3G

AT&T has released a list of phones and serial numbers that WILL NOT be affected by the 3G shutdown that you can find those from here.

wow! What I saw when I turned left inside Buc-ee’s In Temple, Texas [PICS]

As the saying goes… everything is bigger in Texas.

That said, I’ve never seen a gas station with more than 50 gas pumps.

Then I visited Buc-ee.

What is Buc-ee?

If you don’t know or have never visited the popular one-stop highway store that has over 35 locations in Texas, you have to!

You can get everything at Buc-ee, from gas and keychains to candles, chest, goat’s milk soap and everything in between.

Buc-ee’s got bigger

According to to their siteBuc-ee’s, not only has multiple locations here in Texas, but they’ve expanded into southern states like Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.

World’s Biggest Buc-ee Coming Soon

Later that year, Buc-ee’s a plans to open “World’s Largest Buc-ee” located in Sevierville, Tennessee. It will have 120 fuel pumps, a 250-foot car wash and 74,000 square feet of interior stores.

Ouch!

I never turned left

In almost 7 years I’ve been here in Texas, I’ve never turned left when I walked into a Buc-ee’s.

Either I walk straight to the bathroom or I turn right for water or gummy bears or chocolate almonds. (I get the same thing every time)

But yesterday I decided to turn left and (I know I’m late) I was mesmerized!

For starters, I never had a reason to turn left.

I visited the one in Waller County, Bastrop and the temple.

Every time I’ve visited Buc-ee’s, I’ve never had a reason to go “shopping”, always have a bathroom break, then hit the road again.

So here are some of the cool things I saw when I turned left at Buc-ee’s in Temple, TX!
