6 Spring Breakers hospitalized after overdose at Wilton Manors Airbnb – CBS Miami
WILTON MANORS (CBSMiami) – Six people had to be transported to area hospitals on Thursday afternoon after coming into contact with or ingesting drugs containing fentanyl at Winton Manors.
When authorities arrived at the Airbnb home in the 800 block of NW 29 Court, they found six students struggling to breathe.

“They seem like good kids, typical college kids,” a neighbor said. “A rowdy in the pool, but they don’t deserve that,” said a neighbor.
The shock of the neighbors is accompanied by the concern of the rescue teams after the overdose of the six circuit breakers.
“There is great concern that there may be more ODs over the next two days,” said Fort Lauderdale City Fire Battalion Chief Stephen Gollan.
The drug would be cocaine with fentanyl added.
Four of those who overdosed went into cardiac arrest before two friends tried to help them by performing CPR. That’s when they were also exposed to drugs.

Chopper4 was at the scene Thursday as first responders transported victims on stretchers to nearby ambulances.
“Four of them were transported to General Broward, and two of them were transported to Holy Cross. Five of them are stable, but one is still critical and intubated at this time,” Gollan said.
Fentanyl is extremely powerful.
A 2020 report from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement shows that three South Florida districts are in the top 10 for fentanyl-related deaths.
The Fort Lauderdale area is the highest.

“Obviously, if there’s a bad batch, it’s not just for one buyer, it normally goes to everyone who buys the same stuff they got it from,” Gollan said.
