Twin Cities police chase ends in fatal crash

Brooklyn Park, MN (KROC-AM News) – A police chase in the Twin Cities this morning ended in a fatal accident.

The Brooklyn Park Police Department said its officers were alerted around 7:20 a.m. that the driver of a vehicle had fled police in nearby Osseo and was last seen heading towards Brooklyn Park. Moments later, the Brooklyn Park Lease Department was notified that the suspect vehicle had rammed another vehicle at the intersection of two four-lane highways near the two cities’ border.

A press release says the driver of the speeding vehicle fled the scene on foot, but a witness called 911 and reported the suspect’s location to police and he was arrested.

Brooklyn Park Police said the driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and the victim’s passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Their names and the name of the suspect have not been released.
